Wave B Social Action Project
On the final day of NCS and the young people did their asocial action projects in north end of Croydon. They had been planning for this for the last week and they pitched in front of dragons to get money for their charity and to buy stuff for their stalls. Below is a summary of the social action projects Wave B achieved:
- Team Edwards did there project at north end by Barclays bank and they got people to paint their hand and to write a positive message. The charity they were representing helps people with disabilities from 0 - 65.
- Team Reiss did there project at north end also for a charity called Club soda, who help people with learning disabilities. The charity is based in Croydon and was formed in 2009. Team Reiss were handing out leaflets, giving away sweets and pastries in order to raise awareness for the charity.
- Team Summerfield did there project at north end by lush and they got people to donate useful items to give to homeless people. They also gave out leaflets and did an social experiment, which involved the audience opening a present to find a note which stated that homeless people won’t get a present this year. This was to encourage people to donate items for the homeless.
- Team ward did their Croydon collage to raise awareness of learning disabilities. They were selling cakes, doughnuts, cookies, lollipops so raise donations for their charity.
