wave c social action project
Today wave C went to complete their social action project for their charity organisation. They had been planning for the past week. They spent the money they got from their dragons den pitch to complete their project.
Team Sabesan were one of the two teams to receive an extra £25 for their budget from the Dragons Den pitch by giving clear information and getting straight to the point when talking about their charity that they are representing, the Croydon African family organisation. They received a total of £75 to run their social action project.
Team Summerfield were the other team to receive an extra £25 for their budget by giving an emotional presentation about the Daniel Spargo Mabbs Foundation. Team Summerfield set up a campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of drugs. They has gave out sweets and had an activity where you had to get around an obstacle course using blur googles that blurs your vision. This campaign took place in the college.
Team Edwards got £50 and went to Wandle Park and Wimbledon to carry out their social action project. Team Reiss got £50 too and went out to the Croydon Voluntary Action (CVA) centre for their social action project. Team Ward got £50 for their budget. Team Ward stayed in the college until midday when they also went to the CVA centre for their social action project.
Who are Croydon Voluntary Action (CVA)?
CVA’s principal activity is to promote charitable purposes for the benefit of the community in Croydon and its surrounding areas. CVA carries out its leadership role by promoting a bigger role for VCOs in the life of the borough and by supporting local people to represent their community’s interests and to negotiate on its behalf.
